The Best Trends of London Fashion Week

The Best Trends of London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week produced some defining trends that will no doubt become standouts in the months to come. There were a tonne of major hits and a few tragic misses. From complementary colour palettes to statement pockets, here's a round-up of the best must-have pieces straight from London's Fall '17 Collections.

Complementary Colours
Clashing uber-cool colour combinations are Autumn's next big thing. Think cobalt blue, oxblood red and canary yellow. Mulberry showcased the colour wheel of spearmint green, deep Cadbury purple and ochre. Roland Mouret's runway was a myriad of teal, mauve and forest green suede.
Yes. Yes. Yes.

Printed velvet is everywhere. Burnished yellow. Soft faded violet. Glistening with applique. Velvet is light, wearable and totally gorgeous.

Statement Pockets
Statement pockets are in the spotlight this Autumn. Seen on the runways of Christopher Kane, JW Anderson and Simone Rochas, oversized pockets look beautiful on the hips of chunky knits, midi-length coats, and mini dresses. Elegantly refreshing.

Wallpaper Florals
Wallpaper patterns inspired by the 70's are going to be huge this Autumn, making any pleated dress or quilted eiderdown coat totally stunning thanks to these busy florals. Wallflower is now a compliment.

Tweed takes on a modern twist. Less stuffy. More sensual. Perfect on figure-hugging silhouettes. Seen on the runways of Topshop and Simone Rochas, tweed has been re-invigorated, is more androgynous, with a youthful twist.

British designers are always on point. Loving these trends.
